The Baltimore Orioles notched their 30th win of the season on this day in 1983 by beating the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 8-1.

The game was called after 5 1/2 innings and was made an official 5 inning game.  Scott McGregor got the win and pitched all 5 1/2 innings but received credit for just 5.0 innings.  His final line on the game was 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R (ER), 1 BB, 2 K.  The win was his 7th of the season against 3 losses.

Cal Ripken, Jr went 1 for 3 with a run scored and 2 RBI and led the way with his 8th homerun of the season in the first inning.  Leo Hernandez also went 1 for 3 with a run scored and 3 RBI with his 3-run homerun in the 5th inning.

Luis Leal took the loss for the Blue Jays.
