On This Day In Baltimore Orioles’ History: 5/31/1983 #35thAnniversary


The Baltimore Orioles fell to the Minnesota Twins 10-3 on this day in 1983.

Eddie Murray went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored; he hit his 6th homerun of the season.

Storm Davis started for the Birds and surrendered 5 runs on 8 hits in 3.2 innings of losing work.  Ken Schrom got his fourth win without a loss for the Twins.

Randy Bush came up big for the Twins by going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI while 5 other Twins’ batters had a multi-hit game.

Season Record: 26-22


The Orioles played 28 games in the month of May, 1983 and finished with an 15-13 record (0.536 Winning %).  At 26-22, the Orioles were tied for third place in the AL East with the New York Yankees, 1.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays.
