Scott McGregor hurled a 2-hit shutout against the Kansas City Royals on this day in 1983.  He struck out 1 and walked 4 in the game and only allowed hits to John Wathan and Onix Concepcion (both singles).  The Orioles won the game 1-0.

Eddie Murray homered in going 1 for 4 on the day with a run scored and a RBI.  Cal Ripken, Jr and John Lowenstein accounted for the Orioles’ other hits in the game.  The Royals’ trio of Dennis Leonard, Mike Armstrong and Dan Quisenberry held the Birds to just those three hits.

The game was completed briskly in 2 hours and 10 minutes.
