The Baltimore Orioles began a short, 4-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto on this day in 1983.  The Orioles defeated the Blue Jays 2-1 for their fourth consecutive win.

Scott McGregor started for the Orioles and pitched 8.1 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits while walking none and striking out 4.  Tim Stoddard and Tippy Martinez combined to finish the game, McGregor’s 4th win on the year and Martinez 4th save as well.

Dan Ford continued his hot streak for the Orioles by going 2 for 4 with a run scored, a double, a homerun (his 4th) and 2 RBI.  Once again he represented all the offense Orioles’ pitchers would need in securing a win.

Mike Morgan started the game for the Blue Jays and surrendered 2 runs on 6 hits and was saddled with the loss, his third without a win.
