The Latest On Jason Garcia (@jgar1121) And Jesus Liranzo (@TheSushi07)

Since my last update on April 22nd, Jason Garcia has appeared in 4 games for the Hartford Yard Goats and his record in those games was 1-0 and 0-1 in save opportunities.  In 4.0 innings pitched his line was: 2 H, 2 R (ER), 3 BB, 7 K, 1 HR surrendered, 4.50 ERA and opponent’s slash line of .154/ .313/ .462/ .774.

On the season Garcia is 2-1, 0-1 in saves, 7.30 ERA, 1.86 WHIP, 12.1 IP, 17 H, 13 Runs (10 ER), 2 HR, 6 BB, 14 K and .347 BAA.

Likewise, Jesus Liranzo has appeared in 4 games for the Altoona Curve since the last update and in that time he has a 0-0 record but has gone 2 for 2 in save opportunities.  He has pitched 4.0 innings and has given up 4 hits and no runs while walking 1, striking out 8 and throwing 1 wild pitch.  Opponents slashed .250/ .294/ .313/ .607 in that time.

For the year Liranzo is 0-0 with 2 saves in 6 games.  In a span of 6.2 innings he has an ERA of 0.00, a WHIP of 0.75 and a batting average against of .174.  He has allowed 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 11.  He has thrown 2 wild pitches as well.

Early indications are that Liranzo may very well be developing into the pitcher the Baltimore Orioles hoped he would be when they signed him and Garcia continues to have the up and down performances he had here.
