The Baltimore Orioles returned home to Baltimore on this day in 1983 and defeated the California Angels 4-2.

Mike Flanagan got his 4th win on the season without a loss by pitching a complete game seven hitter; he walked 1 and struck out 8.  Rod Carew, Juan Beniquez and Doug DeCinces each had 2 hits off of Flanagan.

Cal Ripken, Jr’s 2-run homerun in the 8th inning off of Geoff Zahn proved to be the difference in the game.  Ripken, Dan Ford, Rich Dauer and Leo Hernandez all had multiple hits in the game.
