The Baltimore Orioles defeat the California Angels 3-1 on this day in 1983.

The game featured complete games by both team’s starters.  Tommy John ( 9.0 IP, 14 H, 3 R, 5 K) took the loss and was beaten by the Orioles’ Scott McGregor ( 9.0 IP,  9 H, 1 R, 2 K).

John Shelby batted lead off and was 4 for 5 with a double and a run scored for the game while Eddie Murray batted 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Season Record: 9-6
