2017 Prospect Watch (4/6/17)

If you have followed me on social media you know that I am a fan of Bowie Baysox (Class-AA) pitcher Jason Garcia.  Readers of my work on @BabyBirdland surely saw the piece I penned on who I would be watching during the 2017 season.  In that piece, I stated my reasons for following Frederick Keys (Class-A High) third baseman Jomar Reyes (you can read it here).  I also have written several pieces on a player on the rise in the Orioles system: Bowie outfielder Cedric Mullins.

Throughout the 2017 season, I will report on the progress of these three O’s prospects.  Here are their performances on 4/6/17:

Jason Garcia: at Akron RubberDucks, not scheduled to pitch

Cedric Mullins: at Akron RubberDucks  4 for 5 (triple, home run), 4 Runs scored, 2 RBI, .800 BA (game called in 8th inning after snow delay, Cedric scheduled to bat in top of 9th)

Jomar Reyes: vs Carolina MudCats postponed due to rain
